If you've experienced a loss at any stage — miscarriage, ectopic or molar pregnancy, termination for medical reasons, stillbirth, or the death of a baby — the organizations here offer free support. You don't need a referral, and you don't have to go through this alone.

Grief and loss support
These organizations support parents and families after the death of a baby, at any stage and in any circumstance. All of them are free.
Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support Centre (PILSC)
Support after miscarriage, stillbirth, termination for medical reasons, abortion, neonatal loss, SIDS, and infertility. Certified counsellors, peer mentorship, support groups, and comfort boxes, including Indigenous memorial and ceremony boxes. Their helpline closes over the winter holidays; current hours are on their website.
Baby's Breath Canada
Support after SIDS, sudden unexpected death in childhood, stillbirth, and other sudden infant loss. Peer support, free bereavement packages, grief counselling referrals, safe-sleep education, and memorials.

British Columbia
Butterfly Support Network
Free counselling with registered clinical counsellors, peer mentorship, support groups, and community events. Supports people through infertility, pregnancy loss, termination for medical reasons, stillbirth, and infant loss.
BC Women's Hospital — Pregnancy Loss Support Group

Alberta
PILSC — Calgary centre
The national organization above is based in southeast Calgary and offers in-person counselling, groups, and peer support there.
Alberta Health Services perinatal bereavement programs
The Edmonton Perinatal Bereavement Program, Calgary's Pregnancy and Infant Loss Grief Support Program, and local groups elsewhere in the province. Call Health Link at 811 and ask about perinatal bereavement support near you.
Saskatchewan
Empty Arms Perinatal Loss Support Services
Peer support, professionally guided groups, and online forums, including spaces for dads, grandparents, and pregnancy after loss. They also offer remembrance photography and help navigating funeral arrangements, with a commitment to culturally safe support for Indigenous families.
Manitoba
Dragonfly Support Program — Women's Health Clinic
Counselling for individuals, couples, and families, group therapy, one-to-one peer support, and grief support circles, online and in person. Supports people through pregnancy loss, infant loss, infertility, and pregnancy after loss.
Ontario
PAIL Network (Sunnybrook)
Online support groups by type of loss — first, second, and third trimester, neonatal loss, SIDS and SUID, termination for medical reasons, and abortion — plus in-person Circles of Support in 13 cities and one-to-one phone peer support. Dedicated groups include an Indigenous Circle of Support, a Black African Canadian and Caribbean group, a 2SLGBTQ+ group, and groups for partners and grandparents. Interpreters available on request.

Peer support by and for bereaved parents: coffee chats, resources for siblings and grandparents, pregnancy-after-loss information, and guidance on government support.
Les Perséides
Support groups, individual and couple follow-ups, peer matching, creative workshops, and events for dads.
New Brunswick

Nova Scotia doesn't yet have a dedicated pregnancy-loss organization. Nova Scotia Health's patient resource outlines support pathways after a loss, and you can call 811 to find local perinatal grief support — the national helpline at the top of this page is also available to you.
Prince Edward Island
SHORS — Sexual Health, Options & Reproductive Services (Health PEI)
Free, confidential short-term pregnancy loss counselling. No referral needed. Bring photo ID and your PEI Health Card to appointments.
Newfoundland and Labrador
Perinatal Program Newfoundland & Labrador (PPNL)
